Amitabh Apte

With over 25 years of experience, Amitabh - or Amit - is a people-centric digital, data and technology leader who has delivered tech-led business transformations for some of the world's largest organisations. He has managed globally distributed teams and has a successful track record of architecting, delivering and operating business-centric solutions across various industries, including FMCG, retail, finance, travel, transport and logistics.

Before joining Barilla Group in October 2023, Amitabh was the Global CIO for Mars Pet Nutrition for five years. There he led significant digital transformations and managed IT operations across multiple geographies. He has also held C-level IT roles at Reckitt Benckiser (Reckitt) and Fujitsu, as well as senior roles at a variety of other household name firms.

Amit holds an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, an MS in Computer Science and has completed the Board Directors Programme at Henley Business School. He is a TOGAF and Zachman certified enterprise architect.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Amit is a yoga practitioner and instructor, leveraging yogic philosophy to manage workplace stress and championing inclusion and diversity efforts in the workplace and local communities.

Amit's career reflects his ability to build, develop and coach high-performance collaborative teams across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and ANZ, consistently delivering transformational change and driving business value through innovative digital technologies.
