Frances Hoyle

Frances Hoyle is IT Systems Director for Member Claims, Policy Servicing and Customer Data applications at Vitality, and is responsible for the strategic leadership of the technology that supports this area of the business.

Frances joined Vitality in 2014, becoming Head of Health Systems in 2018 and IT Systems Director two years later. In 2022, she won Transformation Leader of the Year (Financial Services) at the Women in Technology Excellence Awards and it's proved to be career highlight.

"Being nominated and winning a Women in Tech Excellence award last year has absolutely been a significant highlight of my career, for two reasons. The first as it provided recognition for me personally and generated lots of feedback that I'm not sure I otherwise would have received. Secondly, within our organisation, it has shone a light on women in technology and increased our efforts to gain better balance. We talk about the importance of diversity much more and we actively seek out channels to increase the presence of women in the workplace.

Frances is passionate about generating opportunities for women and girls in STEM subjects, and leads on Vitality's IT People Strategy to enable equality and equitable opportunities for all. She says:

"I have created intern programmes and generated partnerships to support female students furthering their knowledge of tech roles to motivate and encourage them to stick at it!  "Driving real, material, change is hard, it requires consistent effort, from many angles and perspectives and and relentlessness. For me this is evidenced in my own divisional population where I now have 55% representation of women employed."
