Nick Ioannou

Part of the IT Leaders 100 - a list of the most influential IT leaders in the UK in 2023.

Nick is the Information Security Manager at Goodlord, with over 20+ years' SME IT experience. As an early adopter of cloud systems, he has been paying for the privilege of bug testing them ever since.

Nick often speaks publicly about cybersecurity and the cloud, is a published author of guides and books on the same subjects, and has proven his ability to plan, implement and manage all facets of IT operations and vendor management many times over.

How did you get into IT?

A natural with computers, I was the one of the only two people in my first job that could solve IT issues.

How do you ensure diversity is taken into account in your IT recruitment?

It's already baked into the company hiring culture (not just IT).

Which technology are you currently most excited by?

Microsoft Windows 12 Pro - where they finally decide to drop Candy Crush as a default pre-installed app and fix Windows Updates to include all programs that need updating.

What would an outsider find the most surprising part of your job?

The amount of spreadsheets!

Origami.
