As CIO at the NIHR Clinical Research Network Hirst is responsible for strategy development, delivery, business intelligence and analytics, as well as supplier management. Recent projects have included outsourcing the management of IT infrastructure and helpdesk to a third party, and migrating the organisation's applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
