Tom Meade is CIO of Registers of Scotland, and winner of the CIO of the Year award at the UK IT Industry Awards in November.

He was joined the department to help it with its digital transformation, with the aim of becoming fully digital by 2020.

Over the last year, Meade has focused on simplifying the complex and long-running legacy registration processes that Registers of Scotland has been using. He is preparing to launch a land and property hub for Scottish Public sector data, and is examining the potential applications for blockchain.
