Nokia unveils 'fit for business' Lumia 1520 and 1320 phablets

Finnish firm continues push for enterprise uptake

Nokia has continued its business push, unveiling new "fit for business" 6in Windows Phone 8 Lumia 1520 (pictured above) and 1320 (pictured below) smartphones.

The 1520 is the more premium of the two and features a 6in Full HD 1080p Clearblack display. The 1520 will come running the latest version of Windows Phone 8, which adds a third column on the Live Tile home screen.

The 1520 is the latest handset in Nokia's ongoing push to dominate the enterprise market and is promoted as being "fit for business" on the company's website. Nokia highlights Windows Phone 8's inbuilt Microsoft services as a key selling point for the 1520.

"The Nokia Lumia 1520 is a formidable business smartphone with built-in Microsoft Office, respected business applications like Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 and Lync, as well as enterprise-level security to give you peace of mind," reads the company product description.

The 1520 also features a powerful quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and boasts 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via its microSD card slot. The phablet will also feature a sizable 20MP rear-facing Pureview camera, complete with enhanced sensor technology and optical image stabilisation.

While the camera lens is impressive, the 1520 megapixel count is below Nokia's current flagship smartphone, the Lumia 1020, which features a 41MP rear camera sensor.

The 1520 will feature new Nokia Camera and Beamer apps. The Nokia Camera app combines the separate Smart and Pro camera applications seen on previous Lumia handsets. Beamer is a business-focused application designed to let users share their handset's display with other users or their PC screen.

The 1320, meanwhile, features significantly lower specifications, boasting a 720p 6in Clearblack display, a less powerful dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and basic 5MP rear camera.

The 1520 will cost $749 Sim-free and will go on sale this quarter. The Nokia Lumia 1320 will be available in the first quarter of 2014 and will cost $349. Check back with V3 for hands-on reviews of the Nokia Lumia 1520 and 1320.
