Poundland strengthens data protection strategy

Retailer boosts information security on corporate laptops

Poundland is boosting security amid concerns over data stored in laptops

Budget retailer Poundland has rolled out data protection software to secure critical data stored on laptops and ensure regulatory compliance.

The project is part of a wider data protection strategy prompted by concerns around vulnerability of data should laptops be lost, stolen or in case of any technical issues.

So far, Poundland has rolled out the products provided by Iron Mountain Digital across 100 remote devices used by senior management and area managers following an initial testing period with half of the company's laptops.

The retailer has further plans to extend the system to remote devices across its Hong Kong operations early this year.
