Barclays standardises on Infoblox
Barclays Capital has rolled out a new IP address management platform
Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, is using a new IP address management (IPAM) platform throughout its global network.
Barclays has chosen to standardise on an IPAM platform from Infoblox, which helps simplify IP address management and related tasks, increases reliability of domain name system (DNS) and IP address assignment (DHCP) services, and provides extensible capabilities to help automate manual network infrastructure-related tasks.
As Barclays' IT network supports the delivery of services around the clock, the Infoblox IPAM platform will ensure that the network never goes down, according to the firm.
"Network downtime for us can directly translate to risk of financial loss; as a result, our standard criteria for reliability, security and manageability are very high," said Jim Ditmore, chief information officer at Barclays Bank.
"Infoblox is the only IPAM solution that has met and exceeded those criteria," he added.
