Cisco and Xerox partner on cloud and print products
Firms will collaborate to offer three new solutions to clients
Networking company Cisco and printing specialists Xerox have announced an intention to join forces to offer cloud and print services to their customers.
Cisco will offer printing services from Xerox on its network equipment. Users of those printing services will buy printers and printing supplies from Xerox.
"This relationship puts Xerox and Cisco at the centre of a simplified, connected infrastructure, bringing together networking, printing and cloud services," said Ursula Burns, chairman and CEO of Xerox.
The companies said the collaboration will provide the following products:
- Xerox Managed Print Services (MPS) over Cisco Borderless Networks. This monitors print technology and cuts operating costs, helps protect confidential data from any location, and offers improved employee productivity with mobile and cloud printing applications.
- Xerox Cloud ITO Services. This aims to help customers speed up the roll out of new IT services, so they can better respond to the changing needs of staff and reduce IT costs through a private, public cloud or hybrid cloud environment. These cloud services include infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), cloud consulting services and private cloud deployments.
- Xerox Mobile Print Solution. This allows mobile workers to securely print business documents from email-enabled devices to any enabled printer.
