Dell unveils 19in all-in-one touch-screen PC

Studio One 19 due in the UK this spring

Dell's Studio One 19 all-in-one PC is expected to start at £500

Dell has added to its One range of all-in-one desktops, including a 19in touch-screen option.

Similar to recent releases from HP and Asus, the new Dell products ape the design of the Apple iMac.

In a further nod to the burgeoning consumer market, the touch-screen version uses a wide-screen format, and includes a Blu-ray player, webcam and Wi-Fi connectivity. All models also offer optional face recognition software and have a 7-in-1 media card reader.

The Studio One 19 PC comes in a range of colours, including Solid Pure White, Tuscan Red, Navy Blue, Powder Pink and Charcoal.

Dell is keen to make the most of the customisation features of the Studio One 19, offering a choice of Intel's Celeron, Dual-Core Celeron, Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad-Core processors, Nvidia's GeForce 9200 or 9400 graphic cards, and up to 750GB of hard disk space.

"The new Studio One 19 is as nice to look at as it is functional," said Alex Gruzen, senior vice president of Dell's consumer products. "More and more people are making the kitchen the centre of their entertainment and computing experience, and the Studio One 19 is the ideal system for that need. The Studio One 19 is about lifestyle and design, and is very affordable for the family."

The Studio One 19 PC goes on sale in Japan next week, and a worldwide release is slated for this spring. Prices in the UK are expected to start at around £500.
