Asus has partnered with Bang & Olufsen, among others

LAS VEGAS: Asus has been showing off a new laptop, netbook and wearable computer that have been built around third-party designs.

The company's new premium laptop, the NX90, has been co-designed with Bang & Olufsen, and features an 18in 1080p screen with stereo speakers mounted on the side and twin trackpads on the keyboard to allow "intuitive DJ-like control ".

The 4.8kg laptop uses Intel's Core i7 quad-core processor line, 120GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM, as well as Nvidia's GeForce GT335M graphics card. It also has a Blu-ray drive and supports USB 3.0, and should cost around $2,000 (£1,240).

Also on display was a new Eee PC Seashell by New York designer Karim Rashid. The Atom powered machine uses a soft, rippled outer casing for a more user friendly feel, Asus said.

The company's gaming laptop, the G73Jh, is designed with a stealth fighter in mind, with angled edges and a 17.3in screen powered by Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics card with 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

Finally Asus has designed a laptop with a bamboo fascia, the U53. The laptop uses the i5 processor and supports USB 3.0.
