Aviva rolls out on-demand procurement

Insurer hopes to speed up return on investment and improve cost visibility

Aviva is resorting to IT to reduce operating costs

Insurance firm Aviva is rolling out purchasing systems based on the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model to improve visibility of costs and speed up return on investment.

One of the systems will help the firm improve its view of spending across categories, divisions and geographies and identify opportunities for savings, while others will help drive compliance across procurement agreements and measure supplier performance.

“Aviva continues to be focused on finding ways in which it can lower operating costs while continuing to provide innovative services to clients worldwide,” said Toby Redshaw, chief information officer at Aviva.

“With on-demand spend management solutions, we have access to the latest features and functionality we need to achieve our goals, not only today but as we grow with this solution over the next several years,” he said.

The SaaS-based systems are supplied by Ariba, which has provided procurement software to the insurer since 2006.
