Heathrow looking for IT consultants

Contract for managed services will be worth up to £100m over five years

Heathrow Airport is embarking on a five-year project and needs managed services providers

Heathrow Airport has released a contract notice to appoint consultants who will act as managed service providers (MSPs).

A number of MSPs will be appointed to support the current four Heathrow capital programmes as well as 16 additional sub programmes.

The contract will last for five years and is worth between £12m and £20m per annum.

Heathrow Airport is calling for expert services and “appropriate interventions” to assist it through its capital programmes and attain " predictability, certainty and operational efficiency", according to the notice.

The airport is looking for best practice analytical, management information collection and reporting services to manage its capital investment programmes, both in terms of cost and scheduling.

The airport is also hoping the MSP will help reduce capital costs and demonstrate value to Heathrow's airlines, BAA and other stakeholders.
