BT rolls out business service

Guaranteed upstream speeds to businesses of 10Mb/s at times of high volume

BT has launched its new business broadband offering, Total Broadband, which follows the announcement of its consumer service, Infinity, on Friday.

Total Broadband – a fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) service – will go live at 28 exchanges by the end of February with download speeds of up to 40Mb/s, and will be available in the areas that have access to the consumer service.

Total Broadband will be rolled out across two further areas in the summer.

The service offers business traffic priority with upstream speed of up to a guaranteed 10Mb/s at times of high network traffic.

Ashton Hunt, general manager of BT Business, said: “The network is configured in a way that means we can guarantee the service we’re offering.”
