Government issues electronic storage tender worth up to £200m
Contract includes off- and on-site document storage, and scanning and retrieval
The Government Procurement Service (GPS) has tendered for electronic storage and retrieval software, and scanning and tracking services that will cost between £102m and £200m.
The contract will be divided into four lots: an off-site document storage service, an on-site document storage solution, a composite solution combining the off-site and on-site storage, and finally, a lot for document scanning and other services.
"The framework agreement will comprise four lots and will include, but not be limited to, the storage of physical documents, tracking, ad-hoc retrievals, storage for electronic media, linking and filing, destruction of records, file cleaning, electronic document management, electronic scanning and tracking of documents, the transport of files, cleaning, repair and restoration of files," the notice said.
The closing date for registering interest in the tender is 5 March 2012.
