Websense moves into mid-market
Content security specialist launches new software
Content security and data leak prevention specialist Websense has made a push into the mid-market with the launch of new web security software, and an improved self-service customer support portal.
Websense Express provides protection from web-based threats, using the firm's ThreatSeeker technology to manage corporate internet use; preventing access to sites which present security risks or that will cost the enterprise in bandwidth and productivity, according to the firm's Ross Paul.
"Our feedback suggested that for some customers our products are almost too fully featured, with too many deployment options, which creates a complexity they don't need," he added. "They want to see something easier and quicker to install, lighter weight, lower cost hardware, simple to use and integrated in a way where there are not a lot of distributed components."
The firm also launched an enhanced customer portal which can be accessed through the management portal, and features various resources to complement Websense's telephone and channel partner support, the vendor said.
