Banking body upgrades identity management systems
APACS awards contract to IT services firm ANS
UK payments industry association Apacs has awarded a contract to IT services provider ANS to roll out identity management systems to authenticate people accessing its corporate network.
ANS has won a £90,000 contract to install the Novell identity management technology, which will be used by 3,500 APACs members and affiliates when access three of the organisation's IT systems.
The technology will also significantly improve how APACs manages user information and updates records and passwords. The new system will also reduce the time it takes to administer updates to user records from four to one day a week.
Apacs' IT Director Sue Yoe said the association chose ANS after conducting a review of technology needs.
It is hoped that the system will be integrated with human resources, telephone and token ID authentication technologies at a later date.
