Electricity North West wants an IT refresh

Electricity North West, the regional power distribution company, is looking for suppliers for a wide-ranging IT refresh programme in a contract that could be worth £80m over five years.

The firm said in a contract notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union that it has identified a key business requirement to update its IT estate to “maximise the efficiency and effectiveness” of its services.

The deal will cover systems refresh, transition, integration and maintenance, and is expected to deliver improvements in costs and service quality.

Functions covered by the overhaul include asset management, customer management, geographical information systems, finance, purchasing, human resources, software development, networking, datacentre and mobile services.

Interested parties wishing to bid face a deadline of 13 July.
