Kaspersky to improve Android security with Qualcomm deal
Will preload products onto "lower end" of Qualcomm Snapdragon processors
Security company Kaspersky Labs has made a deal with chip designer Qualcomm to improve the security at "the lower level" of a mobile device's operating system.
Kaspersky said it has agreed to offer "special terms" for preloading Kaspersky Mobile Security and Kaspersky Tablet Security products on "the lower level operating system" of Android devices that are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.
Kaspersky said it met with Qualcomm in February and the chip maker proposed some security concepts like using separate parts of a mobile OS to employ security and an ability to store information securely and make a connection to a secure cloud.
