Sunderland City Council issues £1m tender for ICT services and equipment

Partner has to boost IT industry in Sunderland

Sunderland City Council has issued a tender for the supply of ICT equipment and managed services for a new software centre located at Tavistock Place, Sunderland.

The council has the option for two one-year extensions to the £1m three-year contract, which is outlined in an Official Journal of the European Union tender notice.

The notice says that Sunderland City Council is looking to procure the design, supply, installation, deployment, maintenance and management of a number of ICT capabilities at the new building.

"While this space is targeted at the growth of businesses developing and deploying product offerings focused on software and related services, it will form the cornerstone of the council and partner's strategic intent to accelerate the growth of the burgeoning software and IT industry in Sunderland.

"To that end, the Council would look to enter into a contract with an organisation that has the capacity and ability to not only assist in the realisation of those aims but is willing to bring its own expertise to explore innovative opportunities to raise the initiative's national and international profile," the notice says.

Interested parties have to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire and the council has said it is looking for a supplier that can supply a scalable, incremental solution that has "the capability to grow and shrink to support the ongoing requirements of the tenants of the property".
