Oracle to recruit 1,700 staff across EMEA

Campaign will use Twitter and Facebook to find potential candidates

Integrated hardware and software vendor Oracle is to embark on a hiring spree across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), where it hopes to employ an additional 1,700 staff.

Oracle said the roles are the result of growth across all lines of business, and that it will be hiring at all levels, including graduates, senior sales staff and pre-sales consultants.

"This is an exciting time for Oracle. Hiring 1,700 new colleagues will help to support growth across all lines of our EMEA business and reflects the demand which exists for our hardware and software which is designed and engineered to work together," said Alan Hartwell, vice president of technology solutions at Oracle UK.

Oracle's recruitment campaign will use social media sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as more traditional channels.
