AXA appoints new CIO

Michael Healy takes charge of IT strategy at life insurance firm

Life insurance firm AXA has appointed a new global chief information officer (CIO). Michael Healy was elected to the position by the company's board of directors at a meeting last Friday.

In his new role, Healy will direct the company's IT systems' strategy and delivery, including infrastructure, application development and corporate architecture.

Prior to joining AXA Equitable in 2006, he served as a senior vice president at Marsh & McLennan, and in managerial roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The appointment follows Kevin Murray being named chief operating officer and CIO at AXA UK.
