Exeter College overhauls voice systems
Establishment aims to use communications to meet education goals
Exeter College is re-designing its voice and data communication system to link together multiple sites.
The college is sited on a large number of campuses around Exeter and wants to make use of sophisticated voice and data convergence technology to link its 11,000 students and 600 staff more efficiently.
The system will also support Exeter College's new e-learning strategy objectives, which it aims to reach by 2010 and allow it to respond better to people who contact it about joining courses.
Exeter College's head of learning resources, Richard Brine, says it is keen to improve its service level to people who contact it by telephone.
'We will also derive the benefits which the convergence of our voice and data networks will bring,' he said.
