Tweet theft: How AI will make you unemployed, even if you retrain as a data scientist
All the past week or two's best tech tweets stolen to order
Robots and artificial intelligence are increasingly becoming a common fixture of mainstream news and comment (ie: nonsense). But just as in pretty much every decade from the industrial revolution onwards about almost every substantial technology development, people are concerned that it will cause mass unemployment.
But will it really? This demonstrates exactly what intelligent, carbon-based life-forms are up against:
If your 'plan B' is to get a job shuffling paper clips about in the public sector, then you may also be out of luck.
Although that does rely on the implementation actually working, rather than going all Robo-cop.
Data science may well be off the agenda as well, though, unless you move to San Francisco, according to Parag Bhatnagar.
In any case, Taylor Swift herself has declared artificial intelligence overhyped, and who are we to disagree with the multi-talented artiste?
