Nokia handsets target social networkers

Nokia C3, C6 and E5 all offer quick access to social networking sites

The Nokia C3 offers direct access to social networks including Facebook and Twitter

Nokia has launched three handsets which it claims will make it easier to stay on top of work applications and social media.

The Nokia C3, C6 and E5 all offer Qwerty keyboards and quick access to email accounts, instant messaging applications and social networking sites.

"Our messaging device range is very successful," said Anssi Vanjoki, executive vice president and general manager of Nokia's Markets unit.

"People want the best messaging and social networking experience on an affordable device, whether it's sending a simple text or instant message, an email, or a direct message from their Twitter account."

The Nokia C3 is expected to cost €90 (£80) and will let users view, comment on and update their status and share pictures on social networks including Facebook and Twitter. It also comes with quick access to Nokia's Ovi Mail and Chat applications.

The Nokia C6 is a Symbian-based smartphone with a 3.2in touch screen and slider keyboard. A Facebook feed is available straight from the home screen, and Nokia has added quick access to Ovi email and mapping tools. The C6 also offers access to the Ovi Store and its many downloadable applications.

The Symbian-based Nokia E5 is aimed at enterprise users, and combines business features with access to entertainment sites. The handset offers access to Mail for Exchange and Lotus Notes Traveller, for example, and is expected to cost about €180 (£160).
