CBI event to focus on IT skills shortages
Need for change in strategy to compete with growth of Indian and Chinese economies
Business leaders are to focus on the need for the UK to build IT skills at this year's CBI Business Summit.
The Business Summit will be held on 12 June at the London Marriott hotel. At the event, the CBI's director-general Richard Lambert and others will discuss the shortage of workers possessing key skills such as IT.
Lambert said that companies increasingly depend on their knowledge and brainpower to stay competitive, but are feeling the impact of talent shortages in specialist skills and at the leadership level.
"The growth of the Indian and Chinese economies is changing the rules," said Lambert. "So how does Britain compete in this war for talent? What strategies really work – and do they differ around the world?"
