Beauty school achieves faster data transfer between sites

The London College of Beauty Therapy has implemented a high speed data link between its main campus and a new site to aid expansion of the college.

The project will imvolve the deployment of a deep fibre high-speed link between the two buildings, which is essential to enable constant data exchange.

The link to the new college building extends the sharing of learning resources and teaching materials to three further floors, comprising of additional learning facilities, an IT unit and employee resource space.

The college has chosen a secure fibre link provided by FibreSpan to deliver voice and data services as well as transmit CCTV digital assets.

Benefits of the gigabit fibre backbone include fast and easy installation, as well as cost effectiveness.

London College of Beauty Therapy IT manager Paul Killington says the link has proved successful.

‘The GigaSpan link has proved to be highly resilient with zero network downtime,’ said Killington.
