Whitbread extends voice and data contract
Voice over IP telephony to be rolled out as part of four-year extension with Fujitsu Services
Whitbread's businesses such as Premier Inn will receive voice over IP telephony
Food and hospitality group Whitbread has extended its voice and data networks outsourcing contract with Fujitsu Services for a further four years.
Fujitsu manages the voice and data networks across the Whitbread hotels and restaurants estate, which includes chains such as Premier Inn, Brewers Fayre, Beefeater, Table Table, Taybarns and Costa Coffee.
Apart from Fujitsu’s existing responsibilities, such as managing network links between the 1,800 Whitbread outlets across the UK, the new deal will see the vendor carrying out projects such as the implementation and management of a voice over IP (VoIP) telephony service at corporate sites.
“In the current economic climate, a reliable and robust data network is critical to our operational optimisation and ensuring we provide the best possible experience for our customers across all of our brands,” said Mark Fabes, business support systems director at Whitbread.
“The availability of our network and the readiness of the data it provides underpin all of our business activity.”
