Africa emerges as next outsourcing location
Continent has untapped potential, research claims
Africa is likely to be the next destination for major call centre outsourcing, according to research firm Datamonitor.
Analysts believe rapid growth in the region will be underpinned by improvements in language capabilities and agent sophistication.
South Africa, with its strong base of English speakers and high-levels of business acumen, will be a key player in this new growth, according to Datamonitor analyst Peter Ryan.
'African countries are differentiating themselves notably in terms of being locations where western investors can add value to their customer relationships,' he said.
The analysis company report also identifies Morocco and Tunisia as particular targets for French companies, who have little in the way of natural outsourcing options.
