Timberland to take a closer look at data

Data warehouse system is part of long-term growth strategy

Timberland hopes the system will help drive sales of its outdoor clothing range

Clothing company Timberland is to install an corporate data warehouse to improve the analysis of sales and distribution information.

The system from vendor Teradata consists of a combination of hardware and software components which will help the company store and analyse more complex information than it previously could.

"This solution is an important part of our strategy to drive improvements in Timberland’s business performance in the first half of 2008 and beyond,” said Rosalee Hermens, vice president and chief information officer for Timberland.

The system will go live in early 2008.
