Post Office signs Logica to drive product sales
Pushing the envelope with five year business intelligence deal
Royal Mail is modernising its Post Office systems
The Post Office has signed a five-year contract with Logica to implement two business intelligence systems to track stock and drive product sales.
The systems, from software group Kalido, will manage data on products sold through post offices.
The Post Office, part of the Royal Mail Group, aims to cut support costs by replacing two existing systems while enabling management to assess the competitiveness and profitability of products.
Logica will provide applications management for five years after the systems go live in early 2009.
“The new business intelligence system will deliver major improvements in consistency, efficiency and access to information," said a Post Office spokesman.
"It will allow us to move away from our previous disparate systems by having integrated, standardised methodology, resulting in up-to-date reporting processes and information."
