Nokia Lumia 1020 leaks ahead of launch

Nokia's latest device will have a 41MP camera, 2GB of RAM and NFC technology

Nokia's latest device, the Lumia 1020 smartphone, has been leaked just ahead of the Finnish phone maker's official launch of the device in New York on Thursday.

The first leaked image unveiled the model name as the Nokia Lumia 1020, showing, as expected, Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system on the phone's 4.5inch AMOLED screen.

Images later unveiled by Windows Phone Central showed Nokia's 41 megapixel Windows Phone in yellow, white and black, a Xenon and LED flash and a huge camera sensor.

Windows Phone Central also unveiled that the phone has optical image stabilization built in, that it takes images in 32MP and 5MP at the same time in 16:9, and can take shots in 38MP in 4:3.

It will have 2GB of RAM which is double the RAM of previous high end Windows Phone 8 devices and 32GB of internal storage which is not expandable. Near-field communication (NFC) technology is also included.

Microsoft stores in the US will receive shipments on Monday, July 22nd, according to Windows Phone Central, with an offline price of $602.
