Bombay Bicycle Club curries favour with web shoppers

Online ordering system boosts sales at Indian food chain

An online food ordering system has increased efficiency and sales at Bombay Bicycle Club

Indian food chain Bombay Bicycle Club has reported positive financial results which it claims have been boosted by the use of innovative technology.

The chain has benefited from the rollout of a new online ordering system that enables customers to pre-order and book delivery slots.

Investment in the system, which has been in place since mid-2007, was driven by the need for increased efficiency at peak times, according to the company.

Bombay Bicycle Club claims to have had an "excellent" first trading half of the year and generated more than eight per cent of its sales via the web, a channel expected to experience further growth.
