Cisco and Tibco Software are to work closely to build intelligent networks that combine publish/subscribe technology with IP multicasting. Cisco is to expand its usage of the TIB/Active Enterprise suite of publish/subscribe software throughout its product line. The deeper embedding of Tibco's technology in Cisco routers will allow the Cisco hardware to interpret more quickly and efficiently whether or not a piece of information in a multicast stream needs to be forwarded.
