Barclays extends £75m outsourcing deal
Xansa to continue application management and IT change programme
Barclays has extended an outsourcing agreement with IT firm Xansa, with the deal expected to be worth £75m over a five-year period.
The deal will be structured as a joint-venture, which will handle IT application management and technology change programmes for Barclaycard.
Xansa first started working with Barclays 15 years ago and in 2002 became a major IT outsourcing partner.
'In such a highly competitive market it's more important than ever that Barclaycard is able to get new products to market quickly and deliver the best value and service to its customers,' said Gary Edwards, senior technology officer at Barclaycard.
'In Xansa we have a flexible and responsive partner that understands our business and works closely with us to ensure that we deliver quality products and services to our customers as quickly and cost effectively as possible,' he said.
