Clothes company tightens security
Solution protects remote and home workers
Clothing company White Stuff has deployed new security systems in its shops warehouses and offices throughout the UK.
White Stuff is using software from security vendor Sophos to protect against viruses, spyware, trojans and spam on desktop computers and at its email gateway.
'We haven't even had to call once - the solution just works in the background providing regular updates and excellent protection with minimal user input,' said Venn Luscombe-Mahoney, head of IT at White Stuff.
System administrators now spend significantly fewer hours securing the network, freeing up time and resources.
White Stuff previously used McAfee software to defend its PCs against malware and spam, but this was proving time consuming to manage.
The company was receiving a multitude of spam messages every day and managing the anti-spam software was a time-intensive process requiring considerable user input which detracted from the day-to-day running of the business.
Sophos now protects the White Stuff's employees based at its London headquarters, two warehouses in Leicester and Fareham, and at a number of its shops.
The retailer is planning to extend its use of the technology to more than 40 existing stores, plus to the new shops it plans to open each year.
The security solution has been centrally deployed by the head office IT team across the whole of the retailer's wide area network, protecting remote sites and home workers as well.
