Avis Europe drives clarity into its project management

IT management software vendor CA Technologies announced today that it is providing US car rental giant Avis' European arm with its Clarity project portfolio management (PPM) system.

After a market review, Avis Europe Group CIO Adam Gerrard said, “we selected CA Clarity PPM for its completeness, and ability to implement the system rapidly out of the box.”

CA Clarity PPM is a modular package allowing firms to manage financials, people,
products, projects and services. The system can be implemented in phases for as
few as 50 users or as many as 100,000.

CA delivered the system with UK partner Sandhill Consultants. CA's UK and Ireland sales vice president Tim Bisley said that they worked closely with Avis Europe's team to "help the business move away from subjective management and complex spreadsheet reporting to a more rigorous metrics-based method."

"A real-time project dashboard for programme and project managers was developed to provide a consolidated view across the top 20 projects, together with a complete IT 'book of work'," added Bisley.

Avis Europe went live with CA Clarity PPM in 90 days, and rollout of Avis Europe’s CA Clarity PPM-powered IT Programme Management Office capability to other European locations will take place during the second half of 2010.
