Cyber-Ark updates password manager tool

Enterprise Password Vault 4.5 adds ability to remove hard-coded passwords in apps

Cyber-Ark has updated its tool for managing administrator passwords in enterprise environments, featuring enhanced capabilities to remove hard-coded passwords in applications.

Enterprise Password Vault (EPV) 4.5, available immediately, provides a higher level of automation and integration when managing group accounts such as those for administrative tasks, Cyber-Ark said. This version also adds support for removing hard-coded application passwords in WebSphere and WebLogic, the most common application servers used in enterprise environments.

Cyber-Ark's software is designed to help regulatory compliance by replacing fixed passwords in applications and other key infrastructure. It provides one-time passwords on demand to authorised users, keeping an audit trail of who accessed the systems and when.

EPV 4.5 further simplifies auditing via an improved dashboard that highlights policy violations. It can also auto-detect the implementation of password policy without any manual intervention, Cyber-Ark said.
