Secure Computing upgrades at RSA show
New versions of Sidewinder and Webwasher include TrustedSource system
Gateway security specialist Secure Computing has announced the latest version of its Sidewinder firewall, which now features improved performance and includes the TrustedSource reputation system to help firms filter out unwanted traffic.
Sidewinder 7.0 also includes VoIP security and unified policy management, according to the firm.
Secure also announced an upgrade to its reputation-based, bi-directional Webwasher gateway security appliance, which now checks active content, such as Windows executables, for malicious code.
Version 6.5 of the appliance also boasts a security dashboard for improved management capabilities, and supports integration with the firm's IronNet content monitoring and filtering solution.
"The common theme in these products is TrustedSource integration, and in Webwasher we've added URL reputation [filtering] to the system," said the firm's Dmitri Alperovitch. "In addition, other web security solutions tend to focus on local analysis, not global analysis like TrustedSource."
