Sentillion boosts single sign-on options
New Expresso product could encourage firms to implement single sign-on
Identity and access management tools vendor Sentillion today launched a new single sign-on (SSO) solution designed to improve security and usability, while raising staff productivity levels.
Expresso was introduced to appeal to firms without the resources or finances to implement Sentillion's flagship Vergence solution, according to UK general manager Paul Malcolm.
"It's an SSO solution which enables you to move to the full-blown version when you're ready to do so," he added. "You can be up and running in five days so from an IT perspective there are very little resource requirements to get it running. "
Among the features are secure, self-service password reset, which will help to reduce costly help desk calls, and a highly fault-tolerant architecture scalable to over 100,000 users, according to the firm.
The product also includes simple log-off functionality, which will discourage users from sharing passwords and identities, and faster user switching to improve the security and productivity of users at shared workstations, explained Malcolm.
Firms can also configure the Grace Period feature to adjust the level of authentication required by individuals during the working day.
"SSO is an issue for most firms so this technology is transferable [to many sectors]," Malcolm added. "If your users are required to access complex multiple systems multiple times of the day then SSO is important."
