Fashion retailer stitches together its planning process

Mosaic Fashions plans to extend its existing merchandise planning software

Warehouse stores will use the JDA software

UK retailer Mosaic Fashions is extending the use of merchandise planning software to all its brands to create standard planning metrics and increase the accuracy of its sales forecasts.

The firm is working with supplier JDA Software to integrate all the company's planning processes, making it easier for executives to plan future stock.

“Being able to respond and react to current trade is imperative in a fast-moving fashion environment,” said Mosaic Fashions head of IT development David Mold.

“JDA’s merchandise planning solutions allow our merchandising teams to capture up-to-date sales performance and quickly re-forecast to satisfy projected demand.”

The system will also mean users spend less time compiling sales data and more time on data analysis.

“JDA’s merchandise planning was already operating successfully in our existing brands and was the obvious choice to retain consistency of approach and to compliment our strategy for delivering standard IT applications across the organisation,” said Mold.

Mosaic Fashions will use JDA to ensure a standard IT system across all its brands.

Implementation will be phased, starting with its Principles, Warehouse and Shoe Studio divisions in 2008, and later rolling out to other brands, including Anoushka G, Coast, Karen Millen, Mosaic Intimates and Oasis.
