Travis Perkins rolls out large scale staff management
Building merchant avoids DIY approach to improve productivity
Building merchants Travis Perkins is deploying one of the largest implementations of workforce management software across the UK to improve in-store productivity.
The software will manage scheduling of more than 15,000 employees at over 800 Travis Perkins outlets and 178 Wickes DIY shops.
It will allow the company to better manage its workforce schedules ensuring staff are deployed when and where they are most needed.
It also comprises labour budgeting, forecasting, scheduling and time and attendance modules.
Wickes divisional director north Brian Baker said: ‘We view workforce management implementation as one of the best ways to drive operational costs reduction, improved store productivity and customer service.
‘We were looking for a product that could accommodate both the complexity and scale of the Travis Perkins business.’
Workplace Systems will provide the software and will also develop a specific set of labour standards for Wickes and Travis Perkins to create an accurate operating model that will improve the accuracy of labour budgets and forecasts.
Travis Perkins purchased Wickes in 2005 and also operates website Trademate specifically for trade professionals.
