House of Fraser hopes to improve data flow between suppliers
House of Fraser is improving its supply chain management systems with the rollout of a data synchronisation service to better manage product information.
The retailer hopes that the Inovis-supplied product will ensure consistency of supplier data on all seasonal products using attributes such as price, colour, size and electronic images.
Benefits expected from the use of the system also include the elimination of mistakes caused by poor data quality and speedier information capture, as well as providing a single reporting format which eliminates the need for staff to spend time finding, formatting and re-entering data manually for every product in stock.
“The need to streamline electronic communication with all of our suppliers has been clear for some time, “ said House of Fraser’s chief executive John King.
“By synchronising product data and images we can increase communication efficiency and decrease errors. This will lead to improved sales by avoiding costly mistakes for both House of Fraser and for our suppliers,” said King.
“I would like to see the communication traffic between House of Fraser and our suppliers to be about sales, new store openings, exciting new products and our joint customers rather than about data related issues,” he said.
