GuardianEdge launches data loss prevention platform

Data protection expert GuardianEdge to provide firms with endpoint security options

Data protection specialist GuardianEdge has launched a new platform designed to provide enterprises with security and management tools for their endpoint devices.

The platform features three applications: GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption; Removable Storage Encryption; and Device Control. All three share a common Data Protection Framework of security and management services, according to the firm's head of product management, Joe Gow.

The Framework can reduce costs and close security gaps by eliminating the traditional overlap between the different point solutions enterprises use to manage their endpoint security, Gow added.

"Today, what we're seeing is that although encryption solutions grew up as a point solution to a point problem, enterprise customers are becoming increasingly sophisticated quite quickly," Gow said. "They're smart enough to realise it's not all about low level encryption anymore, it's about being able to manage the policies, generate reports and pull all that information into a framework that makes sense so you get a meaningful understanding of your risk profile."
