Procter & Gamble boosts supply chain visibility

Automated file transfer system expected to improve internal and external communication

P&G hopes new system will enable fast reaction to changes in its supply chain

Consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) has rolled out a new system to improve file transfers supporting its supply chain processes.

The system automatically processes one million files per month, including orders, invoices and shipment notifications and avoids transmission failures and system downtime, which could otherwise have a negative impact in the firm’s revenue.

Real-time visibility and control as well as improved internal and external communication at P&G were among the benefits targeted, as well as the ability to respond quickly to changes in its supply chain.

“With our global, diverse supply chain, it is crucial we have the flexible partner onboarding and management as well as the reliable and secure file transfer capabilities the solution provides,” said Chuck Patterson, service manager for enterprise application integration at P&G.

“A seamless supply chain is good news for P&G and good news for our customers and consumers. It’s all about getting our brands to consumers efficiently and effectively.”
