Michèle Hyron has been appointed as chief integrator for the technology supporting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Hyron is expected to contribute with her experience, which included senior IT roles in Athens, Beijing and Salt Lake City. She will work through Atos Origin, the supplier in charge of designing, building and operating infrastructure and systems for the London 2012 Games.
The IT systems used at the games will include the provision of accreditation badges for the 250,000 members of the Olympic committee, as well as managing staff rotas and delivering real-time game results to the public.
“I look forward to sharing my previous experience to ensure that the London 2012 Games are a success,” said Hyron.
“We will integrate, manage and secure the vast IT system that relays results, events and athlete information to spectators and media around the world, and will ensure that technology plays an even greater role in helping to stage the low-carbon Games.”
