M&S signs deal for in-store IT support
Some 600 shops to be covered by Fujitsu Services contract
In-store IT has been improved at M&S
Marks & Spencer has signed a deal with supplier Fujitsu Services to provide in-store IT support for around 600 M&S shops in the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands.
The seven-year contract is a continuation of the two firms' existing relationship. The agreement covers installation, service and support of IT systems, and aims to reduce costs in the long term.
M&S has modernised 70 per cent of its stores in the past few years and improving technology has been a large part of that activity, said the firm's head of infrastructure and application services Damone Quigley.
"It is vital that we have a responsive partner who can not only install and support the IT equipment in our stores from multiple vendors, but identify potential cost savings," he said.
