Dell Secure Exchange offers one-stop email solution

Components include Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange and Symantec Mail Security 8200 Series network appliances

Dell has today unveiled a complete email solution designed to help businesses deploy and secure email based on Microsoft's Exchange server.

Available from the fourth quarter of 2006, Secure Exchange brings together Dell servers, EMC storage and Symantec security products to build a reference architecture that can grow as the needs of businesses change, according to Dell.

“Secure Exchange builds on our ability to help customers take the risk and complexity out of deploying mission-critical enterprise applications, while remaining flexible in tailoring solutions to meet specific customer needs,” said Stephen Murdoch, Dell's vice-president of Solutions and Services in EMEA, in a statement.

Dell said the new product is the result of expertise it has gained from migrating millions of customer mailboxes to Exchange. The installation will be tailored to each customer, using components including Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange, Symantec Mail Security 8200 Series network appliances and Symantec Enterprise Vault for archiving.

Secure Exchange can help firms regain control of rapidly growing email volumes while helping compliance with regulations, according to Dell. The product will also be compatible with Microsoft's forthcoming Exchange 2007.
