Vitality picks Atos in £9m end-user technology deal
Deal will 'improve the speed of response on business and IT issues', says VitalityHealth CIO Mark Collins
Vitality, the health and life insurance provider, has signed a £9m contract with French IT services firm Atos, for the provision of end-user technology and telephony for the company.
Vitality has two brands under its umbrella, VitalityHealth and VitalityLife, which were called PruHealth and PruProtect prior to being acquired by Discovery in 2014.
This included having a thorough look at its current IT estate and receiving insight from the firm on how it could enhance and improve its employees' experience.
The IT services firm said that the contract would focus on giving users fast access to help and support, as well as expanding existing instant messaging capabilities.
Mark Collins, CIO of VitalityHealth, said that the partnership with Atos would be "fantastic" for the insurer.
"We are looking forward to working with a like-minded company who has the same drive as us for innovation and continued customer satisfaction," he said.
"The process will simplify the operational approach across the full service and will improve the speed of response on business and IT issues," he added.
The contract is for a three-year period with an option to extend for an additional two years.
Earlier this year, VitalityHealth's PMO analyst, Mohamed Salah, explained how the company had implemented Changepoint's Daptiv project portfolio management (PPM) solution in order to manage the status of projects and gain greater visibility into activities and metrics.
"In my mind Daptiv PPM has improved stakeholder traction by realising project benefits efficiently," he said.
"Cost control has clearly improved and the business intelligence now available through better reporting helps us make faster, better and more informed decisions that ultimately enable us to deliver a better experience to our customers," he added.
