KFC serves up POS savings
Point-of-sale software cuts hardware costs at fast food chain
Fast food chain KFC has completed installed point-of-sale software across all 281 corporate-owned outlets to integrate some of its systems and reduce hardware costs.
The organisation has implemented software that links its tills with its back office and kitchen systems to help improve productivity and customer service.
The software runs on an open, hardware-independent platform that has helped to reduce KFC’s hardware costs.
‘The completion of the UK installation means we now have a single, modern POS application across all company stores that will help drive our business,’ said field systems manager Clive Burns.
The Compris software provided by NCR reports transactions made at the till in real time, providing KFC with up-to-the-minute information to assist with ordering, inventory and production.
In addition, the software’s intuitive graphical interface and multi-media training capabilities have reduced training times so that it only takes new staff about 20 minutes to learn to use the system.
